vBookz PDF Voice Reader App Reviews

Crashes every time I start the app.

This product crashes every time I open it. Ive already paid for the English (us) voice. And speaking of that, Id recommend using the UK voice if you can get it to work. The US voice sounds like a robot and does not enunciate clearly. Id give it 0 stars if I could. What a waste of money.

Good app but !

Does the job but needs a iphone 5 support and need to audio multitasking!

Waste of money

Voice is distracting if I wanted to listen to Stephen Hawking I would buy tickets to his next presentation.

Do not bother

It wont read anything of yours unless you buy the language (any language). So its actually not a free app at all.

Not really free

What a waste of time. You download it for free, but you need to pay $4.99 to use it. I wish they would be more straightforward about about free apps.

Angry

It is supposedly free until you try to use it and it wont work without you paying $4.99 for any single language... I cant stand that kind of BS. If they are going to charge, be up front and dont waste peoples time with the front of being free.

Its descent, no fireworks

I bought it, hope it maintains the average level of quality. Better than most, but I hope someone makes an app like this without read the page #, titles every page, sentence #, etc. anyhow, cheers... Worth $5!!!

Great but...hate in app purchases

We use this app for students requiring text to speech support in out schools BUT the in app purchase methods DOES NOT work for school systems. Please consider making vBookz available in a few voices like many other language apps. Perhaps, vBookz by country where both official languages are included in the app then with an in app purchases are additional voices.

Excellent book reader

Excellent book reader and very convenient.

Great App

This is a great app

Good in Français and English

Working very well Voices are Nice to ear. Improvement download of files over 6 Mb make IT crash. I even HAD to reinstall it and redownload the files.

Genius product

As someone who drives 4-5 hours a day I was finding it hard to do additional studies. Since down loading this app I have been able to listen to literature freely. The USA voice which I choose does sound rather mono tone but the apps ability to translate PDF into audio is a perfect solution for my needs.

At Last!

This version addresses one of the biggest problems I had with this otherwise wonderful app. Now you are able to replace annoying readings of punctuation with silence. For example • was pronounced Small Bullet. That was really annoying when you might be listening to a Technical PDF with lots of bullet points. I also really like the cropping feature that allows you to focus on the real content rather than the boiler plate in a PDF. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Keep up the good work.

Great app

This app is just what I needed. It does reads my books out loud for me! Not only the app is great, it is also backed up with amazing customer service. I emailed them about a question I had and got my answer within hours. Worth the money for sure!

Excellent

Really love this app

Saved me hours

The ability to review material while driving was priceless. The voice takes some getting used to, but once you do, you will devour long PDFs.

Not perfect

Some PDFs were not read in properly. As a result the moving red box did not correspond to the part of the document being read. Vbooks also has difficulty reading "f"s and often mistakes them for the number "6". Sometimes the reader will jump from the middle of the page to the next. Whats more annoying about this hiccup, is I cant seem to figure out what is triggering It. One wish I have for these types of programs is for them to remember your zooming preferences when the page turns. Alternately, I wish they had an option to eliminate as mush white space as possible. On the plus side, the automated voice is pleasant and I love the zooming feature that enables you to avoid headings and other redundant information from being read.

Excellent

I work 300+ hours a month in farm machinery. This app has read to me more than 60 books. I am grateful as it helps to pass the time and keep me fresh With careful speed adjustment you can tailor the voice to be natural and pleasant.

What if i dont like it

you can download the app but it will not even read a few lines as a sample unless you buy a language first for 4.99$ and i assume each language is an extra 5$. paying for a good app is fine especially if it is useful. i have been using one called voice reader for a few years and use it often but at time it will fail to read certain PDFs so was looking for something to complement it. i suggest the creator of this app should offer a sample for quality of reading and voice, most of these text readers do not do a great job so if this is a good one at least let us evaluate it with a bit of free time with it. i just dont see why i should spend 5$ and buy something blindly and risk having to delete it right away.. so i am deleting it and will not know.

No bluetooth support

If I had known that this app doesnt support Bluetooth I wouldnt have bought it. A critical feature in the car, where I planned to use it exclusively for reading reports.
